We at M&H don’t think that business and politics mix, however, the forthcoming independence referendum is much bigger than politics. This issue cuts across party political boundaries and polarises interests across the political spectrum.
Our Managing Director, Tom Wotherspoon, after some serious soul searching, decided to support the Better Together campaign and lent his weight to a direct mail campaign explaining from his point of view why he believes it is better for Scotland, his family and M&H Logistics that he votes NO in the forthcoming referendum. It is his contention that to continue to provide a stable, successful future for the employees of M&H Logistics it is vital to be part of the United Kingdom.
This mail shot has now started to land with some people and as expected there has now been some “feedback”. The wonderful thing about a free democratic society is that we can have differing views and enjoy the right to express them. We have also had some fall out commercially and this again encapsulates peoples’ freedom of choice, the same choices Tom made when weighing up the benefits of being an important part of the United Kingdom against the uncertain future of being on our own.
